The director has sneakily tricked us with a deceivingly cute rom-com kind of trailer for this movie. When we watched it, we were like…. oh.
Basically, without giving too much away, the movie is about Dulquer Salman falling in love with girl he sees and the kind of adventures or rather misadventures that he gets pulled into as a resort. Yes, I know what you are thinking. This is pretty much the gist of most tamil movies. But i promise you, this one does not involve any villain chasing after the hero with his 1001 goons, the hero running with the heroine hand-in-hand or any kind of mass sequences!
The director actually has respected the intelligence of the audience and presented a neat movie with unexpected twists. When i say unexpected, i do not mean the heroine’s -dad- is- the- villain( dun dun DUNNNNN ) type of twist. Trust me…
In line with the recent hit movie ‘oh my kadavule’, even this film has respected all its characters male and female (*tears of joy* hoping this trend will stick!) The hero’s so called sidekick has a neat role and his own character arch instead of just being a punching bag of the hero. Their friendship is actually very endearing especially in one scene when Dulquer’s friend opens up to him on how much he trusts him.
The female lead and her friend are equally given screen space and they will also surprise you in this movie.
Overall it is an enjoyable thrill ride full of twists and turns of you wondering what is going to happen next. A very much welcome change to the mass masala movies we are used to seeing.
